Default want some more growl from the Classic's exahust?

There is nothing wrong with it the way it is, but it is sedate and subdued. I'd like to see some more growl and attitude out of the exhaust on my rover. any suggestions on reasonably priced after market exhausts that sound good? any of you have recordings of your aftermarket exhausts that you can post?

I might have something to post up for you in a week or two I'll be putting a flowmaster on mine. It's in the garage waiting to be installed.

That would be great, particularly if you can get a recording of the sound and post it. I have heard other flowmasters, just not on a rover, and that is kind of the sound I am thinking of.

I cant wait to hear about your install

just about any muffler will sound god... these motors arnt very raspy at all they have a very mellom sound..... i have a custom gibson exhaust on mine from the cat back... i took it off my navagator when i sold it 3in from the cat out... even with that large of pipe the motor is still very mellow... nice tone at idle good bark when u step on it and mellow after 60mph...50 to 60 is kind of noisey but after that its all good....good power increase........still have the factory exhaust just sittin around probally going to sell it....

Sounds like for what you are looking for you should just stick with the Flowmaster, most other exhausts are going to sound pretty mellow with your rover engine.

Off topic, but how do you like your Audi All-road?

my audi allroad? I LOVE it.

take one allroad with a 6-speed manual, then start the modding. add
bigger KO4 turbos
GIAC software
AWE fueling
APS clutch
RS6 sound enhanced exhaust w/ Borla tips
piggy pipes
RS6 intercoolers
APS Intake
H-sport sway bars
Stasis Alcon Brakes
trailer hitch
RS4 18x8.5 rims with 245/45-18 Dunlop sport maxx

now you end up with a 400+hp, manual tranny, 5 passenger + dog wagon that will tow 3500lbs, will outrun Corvettes, 911s, M5's, STi's and EVOs, and still works as a daily driver. how could I not love it.

ask funrover. he got a ride in it.

My mom has an 03 allroad and its f-king fast stock, I love driving it, but yours must be pretty insane.

It does great in the snow too.

Very nice cars.

Yeah, I am about 200hp and 250lb/ft over stock (I hope to put it on a dyno in the next few weeks). fast doesn't begin to describe it. I took most of the mods that people do to their stage III S4's and did those to my allroad. It is wicked.

and, you're right, as long as I am not too heavy with my right foot, it is awesome in the snow.

Now the new S4's have the eight cylinder, no turbo, is that correct?

I seriously cannot imagine what it must be like to drive your Audi having that much power over stock.

Very cool!

correct. the new S4's are V8's. the B5 body style (99-01 for the S4's) had the same 2.7T that is in the allroad.

Thanks man. like I said, I love that car.

My fiance really like it(which is gonna get me in trouble)! Trust me when he says it's fast. it's fast!

Oh and Flowmasters will make it sound great... Do a true dual exhaust with series 40( I believe 40, not for sure there) mufflers and it will have a nice sound!
