Default What is the best way to lift the body off the frame?

Is there a way to do it without taking the headliner out? I have a big backhoe to use to lift.

I'd read a thread of some guy in aussyland opening all of the windows, throwing some timber through them, and chain to lift them. That should work without damaging the headliner, unless I'm missing something.

I do think that would work now that I look at it. At first I didnt think it would but with the doors closed and the window down the weight goes on the windrow frame. I wonder how balanced that is going to be.

If it is unbalanced you can always through a few sandbags, old tires or bricks in the back or on the front bumper to balance it out.

What are you trying to do? Body mounts or are you trying to seperate completely?
It does not sound like a good idea to bare the weight of your body on the very fragile top and or upper door frames.....unless you have a different body going back on it?
The way i've seen it done on you-tube a few times is bracing from under the rockers and then simply wheeling the frame out from underneath!

The rockers are the strongest and best balanced!

I already did it with a strap and the bucket loader forks, seemed to be fine except for the bent gutter on both sides!

Yhea,, hopefully you didn't warp the door frames to cause wind noises when driving or water to get in between the weatherstrips and frames!
