I have two options for a radiator, but before I made my decision, I wanted to know. First off, are they interchangeable? Second, is that a copper core radiator, and would it be better? Thanks!!

Well.... I know pat (Ragerover) got a radiator out of a 90 and it fit his 95 LWB........ And I know 89 fits a 92...... So i would venture to say it would fit.. HOWEVER if you look at you roversnoth catalog there are 2 choices for 93 - 95..... classic and proline!

If your '93 is a LWB, and, hence, a 4.2, your core is likely bigger than the core from a 3.5 '87. Also, you have and engine oil cooler tank on your right side, and a transmission cooler tank on the left side. If my memory serves, the '87 only had one oil cooler tank, but I can't remember which.
The difference between the RN Proline radiator, and the Genuine, is first of all, price. But my son put a Proline in his '93 and it seems to cool better than Genuine, and also has one more row of tubes than Genuine. Whether it fits or not, do you really want to put a 20 year old radiator (assuming it too is '87) in your truck? Almost forgot; check the top mount spacing, which can be altered, and the bottom pin spacing, which can't readily be altered. |

My radiator was out of a D1, I believe, and it was a direct fit, and it was meant for I believe either the 3.9 or 4.0. Either way, gotta thank Eli Whitney, "interchangeable parts".
