Just before I bought my DII the used car lot had the windshield replaced at a local shop. It was a disaster because they obviously didn't know what they were doing with a LR. They didn't get the seal right, broke off the clips for the A-pillars, just poor work all around. Once I got it I took it to the dealer and they went to a specialy glass shop that did all the dealer work, it was night and day. No leaks and it was put back together right.

While I know most of us try to avoid the dealers, in this case they were using a 3rd party anyways but they knew who to use. Maybe just ask them who they use and go direct but don't trust just any glass shop unless they have done this before.....but maybe it was just my experience.

I got hosed by my dealer who probably cost me an engine in my "new" '95 LWB, but they did install the new windshield and the 4 fittings very well for me.

Windshield came from Rovers North. Plus the 4 fittings, it was like $900 plus ground shipping. And I'm in NYC. Not sure what it would cost to get one to San Francisco.

I would definitely get it installed by a dealer or by an independent Rover shop. Good luck!

I searched for auto glass online. I found a few companies come out and replace it fairly inexpensive. I paid $236 (non-heated). They sent an installer to my place and replaced the glass in 20 minutes. My wife was very impressed. I didn't have to miss work or drive it anywhere.

Just keep in mind that the glass for a '95 RRC is not the same as it is for all other RRC's. Changing the windshield on the older ones is a breeze compared to the '95 RRC of DI.

Paul - I am curious - What are the differences - other than whether it is heated or not? I thought they were all the same...
