Thanks TN-LR3. We've done a lot of little things to it to get it where it is now. Most non Mini people wouldn't notice the changes unless you saw the before and after shots. We've gotten together with MiniCC club a couple of times and had a blast. One of the get togethers was a Mod party where we all brought new stuff to add onto our cars and just pulled them in and out of the driveway working on them all day long. Sway bars, roof graphics, stripes, tail light tint......I had a blast! Most everybody pitched in on their own rides, but it was nice to have some more experienced help for some of the mods. We even had one of the Mini of Nashville Techs out to help with a couple of things.

Is it still rubbing after they changed the shocks and springs? I know the original shocks were bottoming out after they put the big tires on. But that was months ago.

However I do like the look of the P38 with the RockRover gear. I still think it needs a hood blackout and a bunch of stickers.

My first LR was the Kalahari and it came pretty well stickered up. After driving it with the brush guard, roof rack, hood blackout, 6 LR Driving Lights, Ladder, Sliders, and plenty of stickers the stock LRs just look NAKED!

Back to the original thread. Would this one have been sold in the US initially or would it be one of the LRs imported via Canada?

mensley, join the Tennessee Rovers discussion board...better yet, consider becoming a club member since it sounds like you're going to be in the Nashville area for a while. I'm sure somebody will be able to hook you up with a spare seat when we hit the trails. I work at Vanderbilt, so be sure to wave if you spot a 101 tootling around campus

[quote=kalahari]Kinda out of the car market for a while....but that doesn't stop me from looking! I'm thinking about a white RRC or P38. Something nice enough to be a daily driver, but not too nice to offroad. Something I can build to offroad. I drove the P38 @ LRN. Not bad, but needs a 4.6 with that setup. No passing power on the interstate. It was pretty much what I'd want to do with a P38. Outside of the hood blackout and numberous stickers! I'd also probably go with a little less agressive tire. My 140,000 suburban broke down 1 too many times. That's our travel car. I traded it in on a new 2007 LTZ Suburban...white of course. It's sweet but I still want back in a LR.

We ended up getting an 05 Mini Cooper S to replace the Kalahari. The wife drives 100+ miles a day to and from work. I drive about 150 miles a week. Gas was $1.60 a gallon when we got the suburban and $3.00 a gallon when the tree claimed the Kalahari. As bad as I wanted too I just couldn't justify an extra $150+ a month for her to continue to drive the Suburban and me get a new LR. End result is she's driving the Mini and I'm driving a new suburban. Kinda bumbed out since the suburban was going to be paid off in the spring and I was getting a new used LR. Especially after just putting on an AC compressor, Brakes, Fuel Pump, and a couple of other ods and ends.

The Mini has become my project car for the time being. Works out nice since the wife is pretty much on the same page as me with the Mods. I've done Boot and Bonnet Stripes, smoke side reflectors and lenses, window and tail light tint, aero grill mod, driving lights...and the list goes on. Here is my/our new ride....

if your look'n for a white rrc. here is a 93 lwb country w/ only 10,000 on a new engine. on the west coast but for the price u could ship it for 2000 or so.

Thanks for the link! That RRC definately has potential. I'm partial to the SWB models. It would be nice to find one with a 4.6 without having to pay ECR's prices! I'm going to have to look for a while. 2 car payments and all! I want to be able to have a little $$$ saved up before I buy. That way I can dive right into whatever repairs/mods that I want to do.

So what's the latest word on this LR? Does anyone have the inside scoop? I haven't been by the dealership in a while, but it's still listed on their webpage. $4,995 seems a little steep to me. Has anyone here actually driven it? Who would you go to to get the cloth sunroof fixed? If somebody did pick up this RR, how hard would it be to get replacement parts? Also aftermarket parts like sliders, winch bumpers, rack,.....

Thanks,
Jeff

all I know is that it is still for sale because the deal feel threw, no clue on sunroof fix yet. But you'd have to buy sliders from england or get them hand made to fit the 2-door.
