Im coming upon my 120,000 mile service time, I found a list of things that need to be done. Does this list seem correct, or do I need to add anything?
Change engine oil & filter Change transmission fluid and filter Change front and rear axle oils Check swivel housings Change coolant if more three years old and not done at 60k Replace plastic fill plug on radiator if fitted Change transfer case oil Change brake fluid by pumping fresh fluid through the system Check and top all other fluids Oil all door and body hinges Replace spark plugs Replace air filter Replace fuel filter Check steering linkage joints. On Disco 1 and Classic replace any that show any play. Check brakes Adjust parking brake Check exhaust and under car components for damage Check wipers if bad Check lights Check a/c and heat Check all accessories Check washer jets, clean and adjust if needed Check operation of O2 sensors Road test and note other problems If this list is different from the OEM Land Rover Disco 1 book let me know... |

This is the first time this has happened to me. I was driving around town, with the a/c on, 105degrees outside, then i relize my a/c light went off, no cold air, so i turn off the a/c and cold air came out, so i turned everything off for a few seconds, turned a/c back on and work as normal.... Anybody have that problem, or know what the hell is going on???

I have never heard that before but you could have them take a look at it with the service.

Have you had anyone check the low presuure side of your freon to make sure it is not over charged causing the system to momentarily shut down. Mike |

Here are my Fluids, 20/50W Castrol Blend with a 3001 K&N oil filter, one pint of Lucas oil suppliment as a plus. I lean tpwards a 85/140W gear opil for the diffs and t/case, synthetic if possible. Vavoline synthetic fluid for the power steering along with one bottle of Lucas's Power steering additive Vavolines synthetic power steering fluid, 3 pints. 1 bottle of a name brand engine flush to be used before changing the oil 3 bottles of SeaFoam to help clean up the gas, injectors and induction system 1 set of 8mm Megacor plug wires 1 box of Bosh Platiumn Plus 4 spark plugs 1 can of carb cleaner to clean out the t/body 1 can of brake cleaner 2 gallons of the correct coolant for your Rover's year and model So now, start you service using upgraded parts and fluids, do all the usuall inspections. May need to replace belts, hoses tensioners or pulleys depending on how they look. Make sure you do the engine oil flush now and every other time you change you oil to help maintain the engine and your oil pressure. Once all is done, get back to me and I'll tell you wahat to do with the 3 cans of SeaFoam. Make sure to remove your lower radiator hose and flush the radiator out with a hose from the top. You shoul consider replacing your O2 sensors even if you don't have a check engine light on, cause they are warn out and you are loosing power and gas mileages with them at their mileage. Shout if you have any questions. Mike |
