Hi there from Adam in NYC
Just had the crankshaft sensor go bad, and had it replaced. Now when I engage the cruise control on the highway, it won't work. Anybody have a quick way to troubleshoot the cruise control? |

Look under the hood on the drivers side, you'll find a plastic "tee" close to the fender between the firewall and the wheel well. If only one or two vacuum lines are plugged into it, that's the problem. there should be three
lines connected to the "tee". If all three lines are plugged in, most likely you'll wanna' check closely and see if the lines are cracked. if they are, trim them up and re-plug 'em in.

The posts have been sluggish because of the holidays, and I am poring over the Haynes manual without much success. Still can't find the fuse(s) for the cruise control and the cold snap this winter makes working on a streetparked D1 painful to say the least.
I will let you what is the problem when it warms up here in Brooklyn NY.

Does your horn work?
If i remember from troubleshooting mine the horn fuze and CC fuze are the same. Track down the vacuum lines like Dragunov said. They have a tendency to crack badly too. If all that fails, it could be either your pump or the ECU for your CC. You can test the pump easily, but i dont know about the ECU.
