1996 discovery misfire - Land Rovers Only

I have a 1996 discovery 4.0, which misfires on all cylinders above an idle, had a code for camshaft position sensor, which I replaced but still had problem and code for O2 sensor which I replaced, ohm checked all plug wires, replaced fuel filter, check fuel pressure (40psi), pull exhaust off to check cats, check all connections at ecm and all sensors. Truck idles perfectly but can't drive! Just recently checked TPS with a snap on scanner and found it bad, also did an ohm test which also tested bad. I read that ECM will compensate for a bad TPS, is this true? I'm working on this for a friend who has limited funds and I don't want to keep buying parts $$$$. Also read about a problem with thbe camshaft reluctor wheel coming loose from the camshaft, any truth to this? I mostly work on BMW's and I'm looking for any help. Thanks in advance

When you plug in the codereader, what are the numbers like? What is the intake temp, you might also have a very senstive anti-knock sensor giving you grief?

Know anyone with fuel injected V8 expierence you can have stop by and give a beer too? Maybe you need to talk to somebody abou it, someone who you can bounce ideas off of ?

When T4 pulls a camshaft sensor fault out it is normally the crank sensor at fault. As you have a multiple misfire,that is where i would look

I have no codes now and no check engine light, had p0340 dtc which is cam sensor, replaced but there was no change in the running condition

Having no codes is troubling to me. I like this forum, similar to roadfly.com which I use for bmw's

Are you still able to run it no problem at idle but get trouble when you try to drive it? This may sound overly simple, but are all the plug wires on in the right firing order? I had a similar problem on my 96 D1 w/ 4.0 engine.

Still not running correctly, but now have codes p1187 and p1193 air fuel metering problem, what are these codes, my code chart does not get to specific for Land Rover. Thank you in advance

My misfire was probably due to my inability to properly install the spark plugs. 6 out of 8 were finger loose. I guess I was too cautious!!!

Been running fine since I replaced the plugs aith Autolite APP64 with .032" gap.

Check your gaps if the plugs are tight.
