I received my set of springs from DAP today. The invoice has 2" on it and of course separate numbers for the front and back. First I stood one of the rear springs up beside the stock one that came off the LR and there was only one inch difference. After I put it on there was no difference in the so-called 2" spring and the other side which still has a stock spring on it. Am I looking at these things correctly? The springs had "Heavy Duty" on a sticker on them. Are Heavy Duty springs and the Big Blue 2" springs the same? Let me know something. This is a waste of time if there is no difference!!!!!!!!!

What brand of spring did they send you, OME's or Big Blue's?
The fact that there wasn't much difference in the springs when you set them next to each other doesn't surprise me, it is the loaded height that should be real different. You night want to get in touch with DAP and see what they say. Let us know. Mike |

Suppose to be big blues. I emailed DAP today. All of the springs were painted black but the rear ones had blue underneath and the right front spring had a base color of green. The left front as far as I can tell is black. Another thing the left front was actually 2" taller than the new one? I hope these were just worn out. I do not see any sign of previous work done involving the springs. You could be right. Once the vehicle is on the ground again, it may look as it should? I did notice the big blues are made thicker and look more uniform than the ones I took off. This was not an easy job. Whoever the chap is that coined the phrase (No Worries) never owned a Land Rover or at least a 10 year old one with 163k on it!

Got the big blues on today. DAP said it was only possible to see the difference once springs were installed and they ride good also. Cut off rear muffler and pipe, took off stock mud flaps and bent flanges up out of sight. Nothing hanging down now. New power steering high pressue hose put on today. Need to get alignment and will try 265/70/r16s but may have to get the 245s. My tire dealer does a good job making sure I get the right stuff. I am not going to change rims. Cost too much. Almost ready for new winch and bumper to be put on next month. Got a trade school to do the work. A friend of mine in the SCV is the welding teacher there. It helps to know people in these kinds of jobs. Should only cost me for material. He said the last bumper his students made for a guy the truck was in an accident and flipped end over end and crush the hell out of the cab, etc. but the bumper never moved!
