Hello there every1, new to this site and indeed new to Land Rovers.
I have a 1993 Land Rover Discovery 2.5 TDI, and 2nd gear on the way down the box grumbles when engaged, once it in it’s fine. From 1st too 2nd if I change real slowly its ok but if I want to change quick it grumbles again. I’ve been told it’s the selector and is fixable in situe.any1 ever done this fix? How much will it cost if I do it myself? How difficult is it & will I get dirty hands Cheers folks. Jay |

Jay - get yourself a Haynes manual and read over the section on transmissions. Even if you do not do the work yourself, you'll have some idea of what is involved in the repair. BTW, I can guarantee you'll get your hands dirty and probably end up bleeding as well. Children will marvel at your stories and scars 40 years from now...
