Default 95 disco with a weird noise

I have a strange knocking/rattle sound while driving normally. It seems to come from up front. there is no loss of power or warning lights. When in park it might make the noise every three seconds or so(most of the time, its quiet). when i lift the hood and rev the engine, I hear nothing!! I can take it almost to the red line with no noise!!! since I'm not too good with engines, im lost!! I don't have alot of money for repairs, and I'd really hate to part with her. Any ideas where to start?? any help at all would be welcome. Thanks

I the only symptom you have is a knocking, turn your radio up...

It sounds almost like my disco. I found a large crack in the passenger side exhaust manifold. I'm not sure if it's the same problem, but you might check both sides....

The new part is expensive, but if you ask around, you may find a used one that's basically like new. There are other options for the fix (if that's what it is)....just do a search on ' exhaust manifold' and some things should come up.

Good luck....

Default Cat

I did some more checking, with the wifes foot on the gas. I Think it might be coming from what looks like a cat converter on the right side?!?! doe this happen alot? Also on the left side it looks like it has the original LR converter! It does say "landrover"!! The right side looks different and does not say "land rover". They are both cats, right?
