Default 96 disco 1 overheat Help!!!!!!!

Hi,
I am in camp springs MD. I have traveled from Ontario Canada.
Would like to get back home soon!

First, I have a 96 disco 1 low miles runs well. Yesterday going through the pocono mountains in PA, A little fog comes out of the A/C vent! then goes away... Hmm the A/C is not as cold as it used to be but it works. Today ac is not as cold and is left on full blast by my girlfriend, after about an hour the truck starts to get hot. The temp gauge goes to 3/4, we stop; check fluids All is good. My first thoughts are we made something work too hard like the A/C causing this reaction.... or the obvious thermostat / radiator coincidental malfunction... Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Fog out of vent is usually heater matrix(core). With leak there it will overheat as pressure in system goes down and will boil coolant. The 2 hoses on top of engine are to the heater core. One goes to manifold and othe to main hoses. May have to change heater core or put a shunt in heater lines to get home.

Try bypassing the heater core. There's an off-the-shelf Gates hose that has a 'U' in it that works perfectly. It's actually 'J' shaped but you just need to cut one end shorter.
Also make sure your viscous clutch on your radiator fan is functioning properly.
