My first post, had the Rover for a mere 4 days, and my first post is alarm issues ...For the craziest reasons, Lord only knows, my alarm goes off for reasons unknown! And! It does the full 3 * 30seconds before it is reset as mentioned in the manual. It seems I'm not the only one with these problems . It is 5:30 am and I woke up an hour earlier because it started going crazy! Luckily it stopped after the 3rd time, because I'd probably throw a heavy object at the driver window, fortunately then there'd be a perfectly good reason for it to go off. What should I do?? Should I try turning off the alarm by turning the key to lock and holding 5 secs? Would that imply that the remotey thinge not work to unlock? Is there other ways to turn off the alarm? What can be triggering the alarm? I'm tired of hearing it go off, it is really annoying! I still love it though but any feedback is welcome! BTW my name is Michael, and unfotunately im going to become a regular here, on these forums... ![]() |

On mine it was the rear door switch - inside the right rear door pillr behind the speaker there was a blade connector loose that would set the alarm off with the right breeze, noise or nudge. It would ground out and make her think the rear door had opened.

Aha! My Black son finally made it to the board.
Very weird problem you have indeed. On my 1996 the alarm seems to function well so far. The only weird time it goes off is when i unlock the pass side door and open it, w/o unlocking the drivers door first.
