Default 98 disco 1 Help

Hi First time poster here but been reading here for quite sometime. So I bought my disco cause price was right and started putting thru the woods!!!! and it has gone everywhere local jeeps and chevy trucks go so I'm happy! So I realized I have the Diff Lock and realized can't get it to go in and after doing tons of searching seems it is due to if its not used ever it stops working or kinda just freezes so tore console apart and started spraying moving parts down to free them up. looking for diagram of transfer gear itself and how it connects and maybe some pointers on how to get it working again. my 4 hi lo works better now that i lub'd up but like to get the diff working.

the cross shaft that your hi/lo lever pivots on also slides side to side to engage difflock.

I spent over an hour getting mine freed up - soaking tapping etc. (difflock still didn't work tho') I think the clips inside my t-case are broken.

The long vertical bar on pass side can be disconnected @ case & 14mm socket on extension used to shift in/out of lock - should turn on "lock" light on dash.

If it does, then at least you know lock will work - Don't drive around on dry pavement in lock mode - you can stress the crap out of the drivetrain

luck, greg
