On D1's with coil packs you normally only need to wrap the ECU in a baggie, most everything else is OK and then you can power scrub it. All D 2's take the water in style, I power scrub my engine after every trail or about once a month and have never had a problem.
Also, if you have the engine detailed don't have them use any of their glossy sprays afterwards, it can seap into any connector and cause huge problems. I hope you are making the car wash pay for their screw up, in reality, if you can dry out the ECU and they didn't get any of the detail spray inside it, it will probably restart after being dried out. Good luck. Mike |

I had a similar problem w/my 98DiscoveryI. It sounds like there is water in the muffler and/or catalytic converter. I resolved the problem by driving the car until it was hot enough to burn off the water. Letting it idle is probably better. My Disco ran like crap(5mph max on any incline) until the water had evaporated.
Hope this helps... ![]() |

Mine did the same thing. Now for no reason at all it will do it. Is this the coil packs or is there something else I need to be changing. My local mechanic has had it in his shop for a week and hasnt got it going yet.
