Default ABS issue (argh ABS is hard to search for)

sorry i tried searching for this, but ABS is too short

so anyways, my "Anti-Lock" light doesn't turn off sometimes after I start driving, and more recently it has started pulsating the brake pedal even when not necessary keeping me from being able to stop. (only when trying to brake)

Letting off the brakes and pressing again allows me to continue braking as normal, but its scary!

Anyways, I'm thinking a sensor is malfunctioning? Anyone have this problem before?

Is changing an ABS sensor fairly cheap and an easy DIY?

For the time being i have disconnected the ABS fuse to keep it from going off when not necessary (im talking 25 MPH approaching a stop sign under dry conditions)

Go around to each wheel and tap on the top of each sensor and make sure they are seated in all the way.

oh sweet, i didn't know there were ABS codes

and can a bunch of oil / sludge coated over that area throw off the sensor? because I'm leaking something down there and its thick. i'll try decreasing the area tonight.
