Default abs light on but works

my abs light is on all the time. The manual states that it should stay on until the disco reaches 5 mph or more. Was thinking it is just not noticing that? Does anyone know if it reads from the wheel sensors or the speedo? I would think speedo and if it does which one is my speedo sensor? there is on near the parking brack and one farther forward near the tranny. If it was a Chevy I would go with the tranny, but as I have learned in the last four months, this is clearly not a chevy.

Look closely at that light...I believe it says "SRS" not "ABS", and it is red colored right? That is the Supplemental Restraint System, or Airbags.

The "Anti-Lock" brake system has another light that says "Anti-Lock" and yes it should go off as you say.

I have found my ABS rely to be faulty in the past. In this condition the rely does not open circuit when the vehicle reaches the prescribed speed. Changine the ABS censor solved the problem in my case. It can be located on the left hand side under the glove box. My car is right hand drive. Regards.
