Default Ac Comes And Goes

Hey all I have a 95 d-1 The air condtioner will blow cold a$$ air on the highest setting and when you turn it down to 2 feels only luke warm Also when your on freeway stays cool in traffic will blow semi cold air Had it checked and there were no leaks and fluid is good .I wrapped pipes in pipe insulation and it melted LOL Any other suggestions

I would suggest you check and make sure all your fans are working, and there is no blockage in front of the radiator cause a lack of air flow to cool the condensor.

Thanks for input Disco mike.. I was thinking of cleaning it out tomorrow Its not overheating so fans work just a odd thing i guess

When you turn down the fan to '2', does the compressor clutch disengage?

No It doesnt disengage Think I am losing it ... I guess I am not use to the size of vehicle and time it takes to cool down In vermont we only run it 30 days a year Ill keep ya posted if it acts up for real LOL
