Saw a RangeRoverSport with the adjustable airbag suspension. Guy had placed oversize rims and tyres and got three bags bust for his trouble. One had a slow leak that had to be diagnosed overnight.
That got me to wondering if anyone has seen an transplant air suspension system from a RRS to a Disco before or someone done something completely new for the Discos. Before anyome says it can't be done, Some guy in Utah(?) designed a new airbag system on a Crysler PT Cruiser using the existing strut system by placing the bags on the top of the shocks in the shock towers. He also got newer airbags made of polystyrene which won't get old and break after some time. Only problem was the air compressor. He had to use a reserve tank because he could not get compressors fast enough to fill the bags fast enough. Adam in NYC

1. I would not mind the adjustable ride height. I drive around my senior citizen folks around and had to put Manik bars so they can get in. The second advantage would be drop the truck when streetparked, making it harder to steal. 2. OEM airbag parts would be cheap on my end since I now have a hook. However, I think placement of new double shock towers and put third party airbags either next or on top of the towers would be better. There is a lot of new airbag tech out there, just view the Powerblock on SpikeTV. Quite a few advertise on there over the weekends. Adam in NYC

There's a company that builds airbag suspension kits for jeeps. I think they're called airrock or something like that. Really trick kit that you can adjust any corner for off camber wheeling. It was also expensive, $2k plus and was engineered for jeeps.

I plan to install a supplemental airbag system on mine. Since I've had the G4 with SLS, I'm sold on air suspension for towing. The G4 tows so much better than my other Disco. The ability to raise the truck if necessary is a nice bonus. Right now I'm not sure if I'll do the fronts though.
Swapping in a whole air suspension wouldn't be hard at all- but making it work well and drive properly would be a challenge. You wouldn't "swap in" a system from a Range Rover, but use common aftermarket air springs.

I've got a Explorer "Limited" that has air bags all around. ~ 3" of adjustable hight and rides nice. I plan on a manual adjustment switch for front and rear. Might be a cheaper OEM route?

I have customers in Argentina that I sell the Air Lift 1000 to. Basically they use it in addition to the stock springs to raise the vehicle when it's overloaded.
Then again you can install a Boge unit from a RRC and accomplish the same affect.
