Default Another Alternator?

I just posted about the life of my 95 disco. Well today it seems my alternator is going out again. this is the secound one and only 3000 miles on it. New belt, new battery, new idle pully, and of course new alternator. While driving it just stops putting out for a few minites than kicks in. ( I have hooked up a volt meter in the cab full time due to the last alternator replacement) Is there something to look for that may cause this or(as I have read here many times) just a bad run of alternators. I am getting them from our local import service center. All grounds have been cleaned and all connections, fuses checked and cleaned. Belt is on properly (learned that before!).

thanks,

you have done electrical checks correct.

it might not be a bad idea if the vehicle isnt charging to do a voltage drop test on the wiring to the ecm.

thanks for the response--new alternators, not rebuilt, x 2-have done the the volt drop test to the ecm, OK. talked with the LR dealer in Chattanooga, they seem to think, with out looking at it, that I just have gotten bum alternators. I am just having a hard time getting my mind around 2 bad alternators in a row - Before I go for another(2 year coverage for replacement). So here is what happens---driving along and the Tach drops to nothing-volt meter goes from around 13.9 to 12.2 with no load--11.2 with AC or lights on. This last about 2-3 min than jumps back to normal. So the Alt is cutting out and this is happining more. The alt light never comes on. Love my Disco but can't let the wife drive it untill I figure this out-do not want it to let her down.

Thanks for the input-

greater minds than mine
