Default Any Advice On Changing Out Transducer??

I just recently had my Speed Transducer go out 3 days after I had the Transfer Case replaced. I believe it has caused it to idle low and when I go slow around turns and come off of the freeway , it stalls on me. I starts right back up but sometimes when I drive it a little while to go to a store and come back out and try to restart it just tries to turn over about 12 times and then it'll start eventually.
Our Land Rover dealer gave us an estimate of $380 to get the transducer replaced, even though it was more likely their fault, and they mentioned something about a gear being replaced.
I wanted to replace the transducer myself but does anyone know what 'gear' they were mentioning?
Also, I got under the truck to look for the transducer and couldn't find it, does anyone know where i can get a good diagram on this thing? I had them bolt the Transfer case to the actual frame b/c the bolts to the plate were rusted and rotted, wondering if this is going to make this any harder to switch out the transducer.
Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just to cover your basis, check your fuel pressure. possible your pressure relief valve is failing causing th starting problem. I would check the pressure, pump and replace your fuel filter if it hasn't been done in awhile.

i think you're refering to the speed senor. crawl under from driver side by the door. I beleive it's right by the parking brake drum. you'll see a wire or senor type thing by the transmission. you'll need a long allen key to get at it. forget what the size of the allen key is. not sure what gear they're refering too either
take care

The dealer is calling it a speed transducer - is there a difference?

I've actually heard it called both but no one has finalized whether they are the same thing or not. We were told that it was down by the transfer case, but we cannot find a diagram or anything to where my husband can just switch it out- and again, our dealer is saying it is almost $400 to do and the other one said $287!

Any additional help on this would be much appreciated. Stalling in the middle of a turn is not only nerve racking, it is Quite Dangerous!!
