Im having problems with my Disco chewing my back right tire, i have 255/65 R 16 MT`s on, which i checked on forums would fit a standard D1 but i have noticed the arch chewing the hell out of my tire, so i went an bought a brand new 2" lift kit, shocks n springs in the hope it would fix it, but it didnt. It's only the back right that is doing it, anyone know what it might be, i need help or im gonna go right through the tire 1 day!Someone said it might be the offset of the wheels but they came of a Tdi of a similar age.
![]() ![]() ![]() These last 2 images are where my back door joins the arch, theres now a big hole and the underside of the arch! ![]() ![]()

Get out your Dremmel and trim the wheel arch. These tires will continue to rub if you don't.

Yeah,I had similar scenario(my 97' Disco SE)(right rear rub only) when off road(Moab) recently.I too, have 2"lift(running 265/75/16 Mt's) and thought at some point might have to do some trimming(you get varying opinions on that).Thought it was strange only the right rear rubbing(was bad enough to get the baby sledge on it out on the trail and do some modifying).Did not tear up my tires to the extent that your did though.Going to get the trimmer out and add some fender flares(also changing from the stock alloys(16x7) to black steels(16 x 8) which could increase the rub factor.I will just keep cutting until it stops.Good luck.

I'm running 235/85 so I don't get too wide. But I still needed to trim a little on the inside of the well.
Mick...nice looking red Rover. Mine is dead (seriously fried the electrical) ![]()

Yeah, thanks on the (red) rover(it's a 20 footer!).All I was lookng for was a off road toy and that it is.Don't mind banging it around(and doing some backyard body panel editing if I have to).Sorry to hear about yours being down.Plans to resurrect?(Almost cheaper to find another one).
