I was looking at a '96 DI, When you put it in drive, it won't shift out of first
gear automatically. Reverse works. 88,000mi on the clock. Could this be a sensor problem? or a bad transmission? Or more info needed? Thanx!

D1's are mechanical shifting trannys unlike the D2 with an electronically controlled tranny.
Possibly the adjustment of the shift cable but most likely the tranny. If you were lucky a fluid change might free things up but don't bet the farm on it. Mike |
