Question Best Price for Combination Turn Signal and Highbeam Switch

Hello all and HELP! from Adam in NYC

The Combination Turn Signal and Highbeam Switch is on the way out on my 1996 D1.

1. Some outfits are asking for silly prices (>$200.00). Does anyone know where I can the get the best price for this combo switch.

2. How do you do the swapout of this switch on the steering column?

Thanks in advance.

Call Jason at Red Rhino (I just got off the phone with him) he can probably help you.

I replaced mine with a used unit last year (mine died last summer on Bdway while my wife was food shopping at Fairway). All you have to do is remove the plastic that goes around the steering column and unscrew the old switch, piece of cake.

I'd give you a hand but I'm headed up to NH for a few days. If you get the switch when I get back and need help installing it let me know.

That's a great idea, probably best price would be from junkyard. There are always DIs in junk yards around here

Default combo switch....

Adam,

Call Atlantic British- they are in Clifton Park (Albany)... they are decent with prices.... I would stay away from used... for its a bad design and its apt to wear out sooner than later...

Just my $.02 on the issue

Ordered a combo switch.

Get a knock on a door. It is DHL with a big package on a handtruck. I ordered a combo switch. I thought maybe they sent me a steering column.

It was a driver side exhaust manifold. HUH ??

It is going to be a real long one, boys and girls.

Talking I got it (used) FINALLY

Thanks to CarCannibals, I finally got my combo switch at the loss of 80 dollars. Now the fun part, any one done the swap and have a quicker way of doing it without pulling the airbag and pulling the steering wheel?
