So my truck is in with an idle issue & my RTE kit arrived! Ive had to do a lil unplanned maintainence so I wont be able to get new rubber quite yet, but am thinking of installing the lift anyway since its in & just run the stock wheels for the time being...
It would prolly look a lil off, but there shouldnt be any cons should there? Also, a 305/70/16 would be not quite as tall as a 285/75/16 right? But would be wider? Id like to run approx. 33's, but like a wide tire. S.

I think that on a DI, you'll find the 285 plenty wide. With stock wheels you'll also have some rubbing on turns. With a DI, you'll also have to do some trimming of the rear quarters. |

Need a wider rim to run a 12.50's
15x10 4" Bksp 33x12.50 Wrangler A/T (really measure out to 32 on the dot) Rubs on the radius arms at full lock if the stops arent adjusted. On the Discos will rub the rear of the rear wheel well, and just a touch on on the front and rear of the front. At least from my experience. 4" lift stock 205's ![]() 4" plus "33's" ![]() can kinda see how they stick out ![]() |

The 285's would be slightly (0.25mm) taller than the 305's. To get the tickness of the tyre from the rim, just multiply the first figure eg 305 by the second figure 75 (75%). So the height of the rubber is 75% of 305mm or 213.5mm. Double this figure and add it to the size of your rims (16 inches) and you will get the overall height of the tyre.

Thanks, I never knew the math...
Nfrey, now im not so sure! Those stockers sure look small... I like the look of the 33's though! If im waiting to get the tires then I think ill get a steelie rim for them to sit on. That way i can fit something more winter oriented on the 16's... I actually just had a lil windfall so I think Im gonna lift it anyways... I should be able to get the tires by spring so its not tooo long to wait. Ill be trimming the rear fender & adjusting the steering stops when I get the bigger boots on.
