Hiyo!
I've started the simple enough task of replacing the rotten and deformed body bushings of the Disco. Front and back are easy enough, the side are a bit more fun to work with. Here's a little snag I've run into... I've had the bushings removed along the passenger side for a few weeks now, since I can only work when the weather cooperates, and I've now realized that the body has "sagged" quite a bit without the bushings installed. The truck is currently not on level ground which I guess doesn't help. With my Hi-Lift I was able to straighten it out to fit the new bushings in place but I'm concerned that the stress generated by that sagging might not be normal and could damage the new rubber parts. Any input/ideas? The bushings seem kinda flimsy to me but they are genuine parts so am I just worrying for nothing? ~Ben |
