It allows huge drop but still allows it to stuff well. To do that requires a slight body lift or re-forming the rear floor of the tub. In some instances moving the body on the frame is a very good way to go. I don't think I'll be doing it on any of mine, but for other applications it works well.
I agree with the rear shock mounting although you can by relocation mounts which don't need any body modifications at all. Scorpion Racing offer 2 different ones and Devon 4x4 also offer swivel mounts.

But yeah I really don't like the 'gaps' you often get with body lifts.

You just have to learn the new turning radius of your truck and not let the tires rub during street driving.
All you need to do is run better off set wheels.

When I put the 33's on mine they would rub at full lock and the turing circle was massivly reduced. This is not good for off roading or indeed parking, lol

This was using after market steel 8 spokes which stick out further than stock steel/alloy wheels. I know run 1" spacers also. This has allowed be to completly wind in the steering stops so it's the hub casing which limits the steering. The turing circle is awesom way better than a stock D90.

However I still want more so I'm getting some wheels made for me by a company called Matt Lee Engineering they make the Mach 5 steel wheels. The off set should make the wheels stick further out than the current 8 spokes with the spacer so it means I can ditch the spacers.

Running a lot off offset can cause premature bearing failures and break stuff- but on an offroad rig those things should be replaced more often and monitored closely anyway.
