Hi
my front sunroof doies not open - hitting the switch does not do anything. The rear works fine. As a start, where is the fuse located for this? If the fuse looks ok, would i start by checking that there is power behind the switch (in the roof)? Thanks in advance, AH |

What year Discovery? I don't think it matters but thought I'd ask anyway. I'm guessing the fuse is in the fuse panel under the dash. Both my Discos don't have sunroofs so I don't know for sure... but that's where I would look.
Good luck.

I would dom a search for a thread I started a while ago which discusses my fix of my front sunroof, 98 disco 1. To start, get a 4 mm allen key, pop out the little rectangular plastic cover that is in the sunroof plastic cover area, and try to manually open the sunroof with the allen key, then, once you confirm the tracks are not stuck, try to close the sunroof with the button. Mine would not open it, but closed it fine. I then verified it was not the switch by swapping the rear switch (which worked fine) in the front switch plug, and still no love.
I then removed the overhead plastic sunroof console (approx. 10 screws), disconnected all the connections, cleaned them, and then applied dialectric grease/ aka bulb gease, to all the connections, then reconnected them all. Dont forget the sunroof ecu, which is a white plastic box with two connectors coming out of the top, which is bolted with two screws to the roof. It will have to be removed to get the connections out, a real pita, but necessary. Then, once you have cleaned and applied bulb grease to all connections, reassemble. Start the vehicle, and try the switch again. On mine, it then worked w/o issue. Good luck! Kieran ![]() |

Down South here we just tape over the control buttons and seal up the windows with weather proof sealant! They are going to leak anyway and we don't need to worry about them being open while riding through the woods! God Bless the Southland!

yeah I ruined mine wheeling with it open, now the damn thing rattles like crazy. Not to mention it leaked since I got it. Now my headliner is stained. Thinking of installing a sliding ragtop.
