Where is the camshaft sensor on a 96 D1?
Hi all from Adam in NYC I get a occasional Engine Light. I read it and it states P0399 camshaft sensor. I reset the ECU, but then I will get it back every 50-100 miles. It will turn on the light after a good run on the road or whenver it has been sitting parked. The sensor has one side-effect: before you can start the truck in one crank, now it will crank for a bit (about 15 seconds) before it will start up? Is it a sensor that I can replace in the driveway/street or is it a trip to the mechanic? Adam

you could try cleaning it before replacing it if it has metal shavings/particles on it! also clean up the connection with electric parts cleaner and seal up with dielectric grease.
enjoy! |
