Default Check Engine light

As suggested earlier I went to Autozone and had the code read (1996 SD). Seems I have a bad O2 sensor. He indicated it was on the passenger side. Can I remove and clean it? If so will I have to have the code cleared to reset the light or if I leave the battery disconnected long enough will it reset?

When O2 sensors go bad you can only replace them, and you replace all of them if you are over 100,000 miles.
As for resetting the code, that will have to be done with a scanner.

Call Nathan at Discount British Parts, they have O2s for a D1 from $89.50 to the top end of $119.95 depending on what vin#, model you have. Pretty good price.

Thanks Badger1. Will it hurt to drive it a little until then? BTW, how many are there, 2 sensors?
