oh, because I know of a couple of people that had the fuel pump replaced along with the tank, free of charge. But in that case, then yeah, I junkyard is the second best bet.

How messed up is the engine?
You could do a top end and not even pull it from the truck.
You pull off the top, have the valves done (mine cost 105$ total for a valve job at a race shop). Replace all the gaskets. That will make a huge difference. You can do the suspension stuff more than likely.

New dash? Maybe last. And I would go to a salvage for that. Rover Cannibal in OKC www.rovercannibal.com. If Ryan doesn't have it maybe he knows where to get it. There are others too.

Two words..E-BAY. IF you need stuff cheap that's a good place to look as well.

Hoses!!!!
If you gonna get her ready for winter do all the rubber bits too! For not too much you can do the vacuum hoses. Thats a cheap fix.
Check the water hoses too. You don't want those to fail when the snow hits. You do have snow?
Check your battery cables for corrosion too.

All fluids means the differentials and the brake fluid too.
Drain the swivel housings and replace all that with new grease too.
That's like a 22.00 repair but it will save you tons.

Take some pics tell us how it turns out.

Default You should try the graphite first . . . .

That ignition switch is gonna set you back some serious $$$. I have, @ the advice of a locksmith, repaired my own & half a dozen others with graphite @ a cost of about $1.29 to repair them all, with enough graphite left over to fix a dozen more. Save your $$$ for things that you will want, or need to do in the future. I was going to replace mine when it first acted up, but the price for the part only (ignition lock) new was like $329.00, plus the PITA of removing the airbag, steering wheel, & the special anti-theft bolts that hold it on was more than I wanted to get involved in. You should also get a couple keys made, as some keys work better that others. A good locksmith can save you alot of $$$. My .02 worth, Good luck, LRWheelman

thank you very much for all the help but its sad to say the truck is being sold. but the good thing is that the poeple that are buying it are my mom and my mom's boyfriend (parents divorced). there paying around 2000 for the truck and its going to be used as a farm truck to move ATVs and roam around the 200+ acres of land. My Mom's bopyfriend is a ex land rover technician now a serves adviser or something. Also the money will be given to me so in 2 years when I'm 17 you will see me back with a land rover of mine own hopefully. well the short time i had on this forum i would like to thank every 1 for there help and i hope you guys (and girls if there are any) are still around when i get my own rover

96owner - still keep up with the forum. The 411 you will learn on here will be priceless for when you get your next rover.
