Coolant Failure warning.
On top of the thermostat housing and on top of the radiator there is a Black plastic plug, it’s the one you take out to bleed the system. These plugs are prone to failure without warning allowing your water to make a quick exit, sometimes apparently too quick to give you a overheating warning. If you have no water how can the water temp gauge show it to be hot? It’s generally accepted that the cause of failure is the plugs being over tightened previously. These plugs cost around £1.50 each (2 dollars?) and (speaking from experience) should be changed while it’s still your idea. Now I find out you can also get Brass replacements’ Sean Perhaps we could start a new thread, things to mend before they break. |
