hello, I just purchased a 95 Disco and upon trailering it home, Got in an accident and it flipped off the trailer, slid on the concrete for about 35 feet before going up in the air about 15 feet and landing in a ditch on the otherside of the highway..... on all 4 tires (or what was left)..... NEEDLESS to say, I am looking for some parts to repair it. For what happened, there really wasnt that much damage concidering. I would like to know if parts from D1s and D2's are somewhat compatible? I found a 99 damaged on the otherside from a roll-over, and it I can switch stuff out without too much fabrication, I would like to tackle it..... anyone have any experience or know where I can turn? the whole passenger side is screwed, along with the grill, headlights, bumper, taillight and possible some of the running gear in the front...... I am new to the Rover scene and would appreciate and tips or DIY sites! thanks! and if you have the body parts (or any parts) close to tallahassee FL, email me at steeve2184@hotmail.com

They are two completely different trucks and as such have few if any interchangeable parts.
There are a number of D1's being parted out. What exactly what parts are you looking for? Mike |

havent even got it all the way home yet, i have to tow it all the way up here tomorrow night and figure out a list of everything that I need. on the front pieces, grill/headlights/bumper, is the frame in the front the same? I know with a lot of cars, you can use later front clips because the frame does not change much. 94-02 Camaros and firebirds, 89-98 nissan 240sx's are some of the ones I have done. just wondering if it will require a lot of fabrication or a little.... I have been looking for some Disco 1 part-outs, but everybody seems to be WAAAY north of Tallahassee FL.
here is some basic stuff I KNOW i need..... -radiator -pass. fender -pass. front and rear doors with glass -2 rims, might just buy a whole different set -both headlights, grill, front bumper -lenses in the back bumper for brake lights -Ignition keying -Front and rear seats, (tan leather is possible) -Lots of interior trim bits, i would probably be interested in just buying a whole interior if you want to part it that way. The interior stuff isnt all from teh wreck, it just wasnt that great, and if Im going to dump this much cash, i might as well go all the way.... I will drive to pick it up if I can keep it in 300 miles or so, but shipping is just going to be retarded expensive on a lot of these things. I would like to just cut my losses, but Im in too deep now, so I have to make the best of the situation. Any sites you guys recommend for aftermarket parts would be great as well, I guess I will turn my performance mind and try to make a nice offroad vehicle! |

XJcruisin: from your first post it sounds like the Disco took quite a pounding. Sliding along the concrete for 35 feet will do plenty of damage but I wonder if the 15 foot flight off the ground and subsequent landing might not have twisted the body structure or frame... Do the doors/tailgate still open and close properly? If not, I have the impression you would be better off parting out your truck and looking for another example. Sorry to be a downer, but the pranging she took sounds severe and potentially fatal.

I'd just buy one that doesn't need as much work. 95 Discos are dirt cheap.
