Why do you want to install old warn out D2 springs that have probably already collaped.
What is it you want to do to your D1, how much of a lift are you looking for?

i hear D2 spring perches are about mounted 1" higher in the rear, being 1" lower in height.

Actually D1 springs are taller then D2's and give the D2 a better lift like using the OME 751 in the front of a D2 when it was built for a D1.

a friend of mine back home has a spare set of D2 springs in his garage. they have 25k miles on them, so if they would add an inch or so of lift, that would be a free inch of lift for me. now that i know it wont work, big blue 2 inch springs and new tires and shocks will probably go on at xmas. i want to retain stock or better than stock ride, so i think big blue will work.

ehh.....I still dont trust big blues yet. I want to hear about people (more then 1) that have had them after two years of rough riding and see how much 'life' they still have in them.

Pretty sure the D1 will set lower with D2 coils. I am running D1 coils in the front of my truck so I could get some extra height over the HD springs OME suggests for a D1.

are there any other springs that will last awhile but give a better ride? my disco is a primary DD, so a stiff ride isnt what I'm looking for really. Ive heard the HDs stiffen it up quite a bit.

Just dig out the old plastic and buy your self an early Xmas present, shocks, spring and a steering stabilizer.
As for the senior member, 2400 post, social security and a pace maker.
