Default Disco Alarm

I am writting this for a friend that has a 98 D1. He had the fuel pump replaced last week and now when he tries to start it up the alarm system starts going off. The radio asked for a code to be put in also. He said when he took the key out of the ignition it started making a clicking sound so he disconnected the battery and it stopped. Any ideas would be appreciated.
