Hi, I am new to Discovery's and to this forum. I just got a 95 Disco and have to replace the rotors and pads. There seems to be quite a choice. There is OEM parts, after market, slotted and drilled, or dimpled. And thats just the rotor selection. I don't know what works the best and is the best value So I am wondering if anyone can give me some advice. Thanks Bob

Bob, best way to go is to get one of DAP or AB's kits. OEM brakes are good brakes and will last for quite a while. As far as the slotted, drilled, and all that other stuff...sometimes pebbles and dirt/mud build up and effect braking. I am sure others have not had this problem and will chime in. Like I said, stick with OEM and you'll be just fine.

You might want to check out the sale and information on Atlantic British, they offer a good selection of pad and rotor combinations.
I run DBA slotted and drilled rotors and Kevlar pads on my 99 DII and have had great luck with them. They stop faster then OME's, there is no heat fading and I have over 40,000 miles on the pads now with alot of off road driving. There are many ways to go, some of it will depend on your type of driving. Give them a call and see what they recommend. Mike |
