Does anyone know of another CD player that is compatible with the factory radio? I know that Pioneer makes the changer. I've tried several different Pioneer CDX-M** models and they plug into the factory harness and power up but the radio won't recognize them. Is there a trick to get these to work or do you have to have the factory changer?

Usually there is special firmware embedded. You can however talk to your stereo shop and chances are there is an interface you can buy.. I have seen them, I don't recall the company name at the moment.
