If it is a genuine one of 250 imported in 1997, it's a great deal. If it's one of the (Very Few) Dealer TREK Competition trucks, or ECO Challenge, It's an unbelievably great deal. Does it have the Land Rover Special Vehicles aluminum ID Plate rivetted to the radiator apron? That will have the serial number, and proof it is real. Either way, it sounds as though the seller doesn't know what he has.

Thanks for the quick replies. I have not seen it in person yet(going to look at it this after noon) but will look for the plate. I will be able too do all the work myself. Oh yea it comes with the rear rotors and pads so I don't even have to buy them.

If it is a real "XD", then I hate you.
I've been looking for one for years at a good price to go with my LR Special Vehicles 02' Kalahari edition. Figure a Yellow SV DI and a Yellow SV DII, plus a Borrego edition P38 RR will make a nice set. Good luck to you. I hope it works out for you. ![]()

If they're really going for $1700 I better sell mine before it isn't worth anything.
I'm thinking it's time to move up to a newer D2 anyway.

But DOES it have the LRSV badge on the radiator support? Is it a real XD? With a repaint, it makes me question it even more...

the guy has been trying to sell it for awhile. I must have checked with him about it over two months ago. It is the real deal and for a local enthusiast, it represents a fairly good buy but will require work. A friend of mine was going to pick it up but it was an automatic and he wanted a five speed to match the XD he already has. I would have offered $1200 for it but the kid was at a point back then where he had already dropped the price from $2250 down to $1700 and was reluctant to go any lower.
