Default Discovery 200 Power Problem

I own a 200 series Discovery 3.5 Carb. I changed to unleaded fuel 2 months ago, now the car wont always start and I have been told there is a fuel suction problem. There is not enough suction into the engine while the cylinder compression has been and tested and is fine. I have been advised on getting a new inlet manifold with gasket as there must be some air leak but they are not sure if it is the manifold. Any advice?

If you have compression, fuel and ignition your car will run. Use a process of elimination, you say you have compression then check you have fuel in the carby, squirt some aerstart into the carby if it still doesn't fire check you have a spark. If it fires with aerostart, take the fuel delivery line off the carby and put it into a container(disconnect your coils so there are no sparks) then turn over the motor check the fuel supply. To have an inlet manifold leak large enough to stop the motor from starting it would be fairly easy to locate probably a hose has come off.

Thanks for the reply, I tried everything - sparks, fuel, hoses. There is still no suction into engine.
