Dear All,
I just buy a discovery 95 V8 automatic and I have a big problem sometimes when I move the gear to D or R the engine go to stop as very low RPM and sometimes work normally any body have any idea from where I start to fix this problem Nb: I got a new problem when I am on something high with front wheel the engine like crazy it’s going very slow and up and final go off Thank you All Last edited by mr_Rover : 07-27-2005 at 05:45 AM. |

Check that your idle engine speed is about 700-800 RPM. If the engine idles at 500 RPM (or less) then it will probably stall when you put it into gear (D or R). Also there is a 'stepper motor' ( called a 'idle air control valve' sometimes) attached to the throttle box that might need cleaning or replacing. If your are not used to playing with engines like this one, get some help from a good mechanic.
