Hi All,
I'm just about to buy myself a suspension lift kit +2" Nothing too special just something to spruce up the old bird after 145 000 miles of hard use! So, more than likeley Pro-comp shocks and Bearmach springs. I want to fit the lift myself - can anyone give me advice? How do I get the old springs out - more importantly - how do I get the new ones in? I'm quite happy to use my angle grinder to get the old gear off - but what tools will I need to put the new stuff on? As soon as the lift is on I'm off to Nene Valley in N'hampton to have a set of monster 255/85 BFG muddies put on!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers! Mark HH Last edited by Mark HH : 06-08-2006 at 10:13 AM. |

Check out Discoweb
www.discoweb.org Under the tech section Spring and Shock install. Very thorough. I think you will also need to trim your fenders, if your going to run larger tires. Look under tech, fender trimming for that. 255/85 will rub your radius arms in tight turns.

Thanks for that - I'll have a look.
I have already chopped the arches off (all the flat vertical bit) when I put 235/85's on without a lift. I do have the wider offset modular wheels so maybe I might just miss the radius arms - the 255's will only be 10mm wider each side... Cheers Mark HH |
