Dome light difficulty - Land Rovers Only

I just got a 95 Disco and I am completely in Love with it...I am trying to get what few kinks it has out of it so that I could be sound with it. One thing I'm kind of stumped on is why my dome light wont come on when I open the door. It works fine when I turn it on but it doesnt work on any setting when I open the door...any takers? Thanks

Check switches on the doors.
If they are OK, check the switch on the dome light.
A bad ground connection may be the problem.

I have a 95 Classic RR - same stuff between the two actually. The dome light on these models is tied to:

a) Alarms
b) ALL doors/hatches
c) Interior light controls

Make sure that all latches work and shut 100% correctly AND if an alarm is fitted make sure when armed it flashes indicators 3 times - one long flash means something is wrong with the door sensors.

Good luck - LUCAS stuff is fun dealing with problems...

Check rangie sites for useful info too!
