Pretty sure most of the Discovery's in N. America have multipoint injection, earlier examples and RR had single point. But if going carb you'll basically scrap pretty much everything the ECU does. It's only a simple setup and the ECU doesn't control much else, not like on newer style vehicles.

Malllory ignition or Luminitions are normally the way to go, or as suggested just use the factory ignition system off a carb Range Rover V8.

My Mallory was a distinct improvement over the 19 year old Lucas set up that was in my truck. I am very satisfied with my Unilite. I carry around a spare rotor, module and cap tucked safely under the seat just in case. Plus, I bought the Mallory ($35) line filter/surge protector to prevent anything from happening to the module in the distributor. I had read horror stories on the web but so far after over a year and about 10K miles all fine in my truck. Just like all the stories about carbs failing off road, I think the issues with the Unilite have been blown way out of proportion thanks to the "I heard" syndrome.

Hey MontrealRR90 post up some pics of your setup. I saw them on Dweb, but some of the LRO members might not have seen them.

I have never heard of any EFI Rover engine using anything other than multipoint injection, anywhere . What "earlier examples and RR..." ever used Throtle Body injection? Explain

This may just be a language barrier, as I don't think throttle body injection was used either.

I do know that the injection system varies though and is often a major bug bear when converting to LPG in the UK. If you use the wrong conversion kit the car just won't run right, sometimes it appears ok, 200miles or so and then won't run properly at all. It's all down to the variance in injection system I believe.

I'll check up on what I'm talking about and post back though, as I'm working totally from memory.

Also thinking about it, I know the regular Rover engines in the Rover cars (4 cylinder, R and O Series) had a definition of single point injection for the earlier ones and multipoint for the latter examples, but I'm pretty sure none had throttle body injection like the Chevy TBI units. Will get back to you once I've sorted out what frigg I'm talking about

Looks nice

What sort of filter assy are you using? Just the regular pancake setup or have you got it rigged into a snorkel?
