After an awful lot of money..the above codes turned out to be very simple problems. Problem one was that the bolt on my positive battery terminal which goes to the fuse box was corroded. Cleaning this eliminated P1178.
After MAF sensor, throttle position sensor, cleaning the Idle Air Control Valve (aka stepper motor), and several cans of seafoam, code P1176 was solved by Motorcars, Ltd. in Austin Texas....They removed the K&N air filter and put a paper one back in. No more codes....and back up to 17 mpg on the hwy. ![]()
