Question front coil springs

Can someone tell me if stock coil springs on 97' are different size? It seems that the driver side is compressed more but I do not see any sagging.

From what I have heard it is normal. How many miles on your truck, are you getting ready to change them out?

Huh, this reminds me of when I took the stock coils out of my RRC they were ALL different sizes, like really worn or something, but the truck was not leaning to any one side at all thought, must've been normal, then again my body is much bigger and probably more heavier than a Disco.

I am considering it. Do you need to change shocks to change to larger springs, say 2 inches?

Yes, it would be reasonable to change out the shocks. If you have stock shocks, they won't extend far enough to keep up with the larger, taller springs. DAP has some really nice stuff for you to look at, they have real good Big Blue Springs and some Pro Comp shocks. I run right now RTE 2" lift springs (got sent to me from llesra in CO, that was on his DI), and Pro Comp Shocks from DAP. Not had a problem with them at all, rides like a new truck. Just be careful, if you do the lift, replacing the shocks and springs, look at your drive train, especially the U joints, if they look old, and/or bad. Replace them, or you can probably get away with just topping them all off with grease.

Good luck man!

If you go to an OME 2" lift, you can use the OME HD shocks with no problem. I am at a 3" lift and that is as far as I can go without going to a longer shock.
It would be good to change out your old shocks because, it is safe to say they are warn out and you will get a much better ride by replacing the springs, shocks and steering stablizer.
Might want to check out the write up on Expedition Exchangeregarding OME shocks and spring and which to use to do what you want. For what it is worth, stay with the heavier shock and springs.
