Fuel filter location - Land Rovers Only

Where is the fuel filter on a 95 disco?? I thought it was near ear d/side tire ..When i take it off and put new one on any thing special i need to do ..IE e Blled it or is it good too go..Let me know thanks

It's on the frame behind the right rear. Easiest to get to if you take the wheel off but I did it without doing that. You'll need to depressurize the fuel system. Remove the fuel pump fuse then crank the engine for about 10 seconds, it may fire but will stop running. Then switch it off and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Your ready to disconnect it but be ready for fuel to spill. You should clamp the fuel inlet hose just in front of the filter (between filter and tank) and then loosen the fuel unions. You can then unclamp the filter from the bracket and replace. I had some trouble getting the unions on/in the new fuel filter (probably due to the tire being in the way) but once they are hooked up and the filter clamped in place you can put the fuse back in and reconnect the battery. When you turn the ignition on it will pressurize the system and you should be good to go.

Is this location the same for a 1997 Discovery SE7 with the 4.0L?

I am getting ready to replace mine I have 105,000 on it and not sure when it was replaced last as I just purchased it a few weeks ago. I looked at the air filter and it looked like it had been in there for a while. So I replaced it and now thinking I should go over the basics just in case.

The Haynes manual I have is for 1989 - 1998 Discoveries (G to S registration) so I would assume so but can't speak to it as mine is a '95.
