Default Fuel Tank Vent Location?

Anyone know where the fuel tank vent on a '99 Disco is located? I'd like to check to see if it's clogged...

There are no vents in moder fuel tanks, the are sealed and presurized while driving, why do you feel the need to check for a clog?

Still looking for the intermittant start gremlin. Spoke to an old timer the other day and he suggested to check the fuel tank vent. He also suggested that maybe there was a vapor lock in the fuel system. All good stuff but vapor locks aren't possible with the fuel injected engine...I don't think. Still smells like an electrical problem to me.

So how many miles on your truck?
How long since you changed your fuel filter?
There is a valve on the fuel pump that can allow the fuel pressure to bleed down if it sit over night, When that happens it won't want to start very easily. May ought to check you fuel pressure on the fuel rail before starting one morning.

It's got 116,000 miles on it, I changed the fuel filter and the multi-function (fuel pump) relay last month. The problem is that on short trips (ie; gas station, convenience store, resturant), it won't start on the first attempt. It takes at least three attempts and then it starts like nothing happened. When it sits overnight or for a long period (ie; after sitting in the parking lot all day at work) it will start right up with no problem. It has me stumped...

Still sounds like a bad valve on the fuel pump, bleeding down and leaving you with no pressure.

If that was the case, then why would it work after sitting long periods of time? Like I said, I have never had a problem on starting after it sits for awhile, only after short trips.

Sorry, I misread your last post, it isn't the valve in the fuel pump causing the problem.

Seems the next logical thing to replace, I just don't want to spend the $$$ if it ain't needed...
