Smile FYI Fan clutch

Fan clutch went last week and truck started running hot. Went down to napa with clutch in hand too see what they could do. Turns out that chev truck clutch is exactly the same, but the mounting holes need to be drilled out slightly( on the fan hub) and the bolts need to be changed out for the next size up. I think 8 mm but not sure. Will check on part# next week.
Cost was only about $85. Works awsome. Also learned that the clutch mechanism is designed to only limit rpm and is not dependant on heat through rad. Overheat problem gone, and no trip to dealer, and no mail order parts. Back on the road in a couple of hours.
