plz any1 could any1 help i have a discovery j reg , when around town the gear stick is ok but when i travel down the motorway at around 65/70 mph for 40 miles the gear stick becomes stiff and dont know y

The first thing that I would do would be to replace the oil in the gearbox. A possible reason is that around town ( smaller drives ) the oil is able to keep tempratures down but once you are at high way speeds there may not be (just) enough oil or the oil may be contaminated and unable to keep the temps down. and we all know that metal expands with higher temps making it harder to shift. This is of course only my opinion it's just the first thing that I would do in that circumstance.
