I have the same problem sometimes. I think mine is due to a slow leak w/the power steering fluid, and my thought is that when the leak develops a drop the fluid drips and it gets hot and smells. Since it's only a slow leak, it doesn't always drip when the car is hot, so the smell is intermittent. That's my theory anyway, and I hope that's what it is! Whew, does that make sense? Good luck, Michele

Hi Eric
Do you get spots of oil/dust on your back door/window? Maybe the rear seal from the transfer case as it also has gear oil (the gearbox has that red stuff that smells like cordial or something). Cheers Ben

It's probably gear oil leaking thru your hub seals. The heat of the rotors makes it more noticeable. Just check the back of the tires for any oil stains.
